SMS Plc was established in 1998GC by an owner who had more than a decade of prior experience in coffee production in Sidamo and Yirgacheffee areas. Since its establishment, SMS Plc, has been a trusted partner for different companies around the world. In Ethiopia, SMS was among the first who played a great role in the specialty market and still is. It has its own well established export coffee processing plant with well-equipped coffee quality inspection laboratory. Since last year SMS has integrated its processing system with a strong quality inspection and management system which will help it stand stronger in both mainstream and specialty market.
SMS’s sister company has three washing stations and 2 dry mills in Sidamo region and has been in coffee processing business for more than 25 years. Over all SMS has 54 permanent employees and more than 140 daily workers. It has a good reputation among government bodies and financing institutes.
